I am lucky to be where I am.
I owe much of what I’ve achieved to my friends and my family, my mother most of all. I am truly fortunate to have received all the support I got throughout this long – and often daunting – process. They are the ones who provided me with the strength to keep trying, even and especially during those terrible times of self-doubt. I love you all, and never stop to consider myself lucky for having you in my life.
I am also indebted to all those who helped me along the way by explaining the application process to me – I was lost when I started, and found my way through the guidance of those kind people, most of them professors who went out of their way to assist and encourage this random, out-of-the-blue wannabe.
Of those professors, I would like to especially thank professor Shah of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, professor Christenfeld of UCSD, professor Bargh of NYU, professors Slovic and Mauro of the University of Oregon in Eugene, professor Zajonc of Stanford and my very own advisor here at Stanford, professor Gross, from whom I feel lucky to be learning now.
A special thank also to professor Higgins of Columbia University, who took me into his lab when I was looking for some research experience, as well as to Dr. Spiegel, under whose guidance I’ve had the pleasure of working while there.
